New missionary autobiography: Alice in Africa

We have just published a lively autobiography by Alice Fredlund, a missionary from Liverpool who went out to West Africa in 1939 as a pioneer with the WEC mission. The WEC were going inland (at that time only the coastal areas were being evangelised) and after landing at Sasandra in the then Gold Coast, she took that step with them and made her way inland. She met people who had never before seen a white woman and every day was a challenge. The book tells her story. It also includes some pages of her diary and a DVD of her talking about her work in West Africa. Pastor Hilary Walker of Oxford Bible Church says, "I hold Alice in great esteem and would love all aspiring young preachers, evangelists and missionaries to sit under her teaching and receive some of the anointing that is upon her. She is now 94years old and even more in love with Jesus."

Mrs Alice Fredlund decided to write this book so that others would be encouraged to step out in faith in response to God's call on their life. It is a personal look at her life and not intended as a political statement about any mission or missionary work, but as an encouragement to those who would like to follow Jesus in their own life.
