Gateway Films

This site was set up to introduce you to my paintings for artweeks in 2009. Since then much has happened and the site has grown. I also have a mission: to complete two movies, one short drama (Living and Dying) and one feature length film (Hidden Enemy).These two films are somehow connected. Other films are being made too and you will find out more about them if you keep in touch.

Gateway Films was set up to produce the film Hidden Enemy. It has grown to find itself involved in other projects. Below a recent director (sadly not with us anymore) of Gateway Films, Alice Fredlund, enjoys a mother's day cake baked and decorated by myself.

Who I Am

I am a filmmaker, writer, painter and poet. Born in West Africa, child of missionary parents. We lived in the African bush in a town called Kandi. I went to school in the UK and never broke the link with Africa. After graduating from Art College with a degree in Fine Art I came to Oxford as Youth Film Adviser for Oxford County Council and set up Oxford Filmmaker's Workshop at the Old Fire Station Art Center. We later moved to The Stables in Heddington.This is still operaring under the name of Oxford Film and Videomakers (OFVM) and has now moved to the old slipper baths in Catherine St. Oxford. On leaving the workshop I set up a film company called Africa Word and Image to produce films in Africa with African filmmakers. In 2002 I set up a publishing company, Friends Print and Media. This is now the book-publishing arm of Gateway Films Ltd., which was set up in 2005. All the time I have been painting, writing and making films and television programmes.
